The 4.0 Lob Decision Tree

Pickleball Tips
The 4.0 Lob Decision Tree - when to lob and when to never lob
Defensive lob - buy time when you're jammed
Offensive lob - punish net-crowders
Don't lob - 3 situations that give opponents a free point
The lob decision flowchart - should I lob?

Swipe through this one... I put together a simple map to fix the biggest mistake I see out on the courts. I watch players toss up more random lobs than a short-order cook flips pancakes. Here's the deal... just because you CAN hit it high does not mean you should. Here's what to catch as you scroll: - Ball below the net and you're jammed up? That's your defensive lob... a bailout shot to buy time and get your feet reset. - See your opponents hugging the kitchen line too tight? That's your offensive trigger. Send it right over their heads and make them pay for crowding. - Lobbing into the wind, or against a six-foot-six giant? Put it away. You're just gift-wrapping them a free smash. The rulebook says the ball only has to bounce once before you return it... but it never said you HAVE to throw up a panic lob every time you get out of position. Next time you're stuck in a game, picture that decision tree from the final slide. Check the wind and your opponents' feet before you just chuck your paddle at it.
